Chris Nybo is the Founder and Principal of Illinois Strategies Group, an Illinois law and government relations firm representing businesses, trade associations, nonprofit organizations, and municipalities before the Illinois General Assembly and state agencies.

For the past eight years, Chris has advised clients on legislative, budgetary, regulatory, and administrative matters across a broad range of industries, including energy, healthcare, technology, financial services, public safety, commercial real estate, and environmental services. His clients have included publicly traded companies, national and state trade associations, nonprofit organizations, municipalities, and emerging growth companies.

Before entering private-sector government relations, Chris served in both the Illinois House of Representatives and Illinois Senate, where he held several leadership positions, including Senate Executive Committee Spokesperson, Senate Caucus Chair, and Spokesperson for the Senate Financial Institutions and Revenue Committees. During his legislative service, he worked extensively on issues involving healthcare, energy, public safety, transportation, financial services, taxation, and regulatory policy.

Prior to his legislative and government affairs work, Chris practiced law for approximately fourteen years at large and mid-sized Chicago law firms following a clerkship with the United States District Court.

Chris graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from Dartmouth College, where he was awarded a Harry S. Truman Scholarship, and earned his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. He has been selected as an Illinois Super Lawyer for eleven consecutive years and has been recognized by the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police and ASIS International for his contributions to public safety policy and advocacy.
